What is the difference between Independent Agents and local or direct insurance agents?
There are three sources for insurance in today’s marketplace:
Captive Local Agents: Can sell the insurance and represent the interests of one company.
Telephone Direct Representatives: Also represent the interests of a single insurance provider and can only do so over the telephone, typically in a call center environment.
Independent Insurance Agents: represent numerous top insurance carriers and will research with these firms to find you the best combination of value, coverage and service.
